Basecamp

Salesforce Basecamp Brussels 2019

25 July 2019

Salesforce

Salesforce held its annual basecamp at Tour & Taxis Brussels on 25 June 2019. Salesforce Basecamp is an educational event that aims to increase the participants' Salesforce knowledge. Keynote speakers explain the new Salesforce functionalities and developments. Companies share how the implementation of Salesforce has contributed to their organization. There is also time to network and exchange experiences. These basecamps are a must for companies and organizations looking to get even more out of their digital environment. Of course we attended this year's basecamp, and we would like to share some of our insights.

4 valuable strategies in the current digital transformation

The keynote speeches explained the current trends in the IT world and zoomed in on some trends that will manifest themselves in the future. After the third industrial revolution, which focused on communication and digitalization, we are currently experiencing the fourth industrial revolution, which is all about digital transformation.

Salesforce sees 4 strategies that can be of value in this digital transformation:

  • Personalized experiences. People are looking for a personalized experience based on their interests.
  • Data is collected and analyzed and the insights are immediately deployed to improve the customer experience based on the acquired data.
  • Employee empowerment. Give employees opportunities, tools and responsibilities that make it easier for them to work together and achieve their goals.
  • Values, purpose and culture. Define a strong culture with values and goals that attract customers and new talent.

Success Cloud Sessions

During the Success Cloud Sessions, Salesforce provided more information on Salesforce Lightning, which it refers to as "the future for sales and CRM." Salesforce has added more functionality that improves the user experience and user adoption and boosts productivity and effectiveness. It has done this by integrating a more familiar look and feel and more drag and drop functionalities, and by using compact layouts and integrated Kanban functionalities.

If you are switching from the Classic version to the Lightning version, Salesforce offers a Toolkit to help your organization make a successful transition.

  • Transition Assistant: contains a collection of activities, tools and resources for a successful transaction.
  • Readiness Check: checks whether your organization is ready to migrate.
  • Configuration Converter: converts VisualForce pages, actions, buttons and so on to Lightning compatible alternatives.
  • Salesforce Optimizer: ensures a faster transition by only migrating components that are actually used.
  • Lightning Change Management Hub: allows you to engage your users by using the change management templates and best practices.
  • Lightning Usage App: enables you to monitor the Lightning Experience usage and performance and use this information to make calculated decisions.

More information on this Basecamp is available here. You will find full presentations, extra information from the Basecamp Keynotes and Customer Success Stories, and the experiences of Belgian Trailblazers. Highly recommended!
