Below is an overview of the most important partner news and highlights for December 2021.

Will Windows 10 devices still be available in 2022?

Windows 11 was launched on October 5, and will be replacing Windows 10. HP announced that the new platforms set to be launched from next year (i.e. successors of the current generations) can only be configured with Windows 11/Windows 11 with downgrade to Windows 10.

What about the current HP devices?

  • No devices with Windows 10 Pro may be shipped after June 30, 2022. Considering the persistently long delivery times – up to six months – we recommend that customers who genuinely need Windows 10 devices order them now in 2021.
  • Important: According to the information that we have received from HP, the devices that come with Windows 11 cannot be downgraded to Windows 10 because of the license in the bios. An important exception is that customers who hold a Volume License contract with Microsoft can install Windows 10 on a Windows 11 device. There is, however, a solution: starting January 24, 2022, we can provide the devices with Windows 11 with downgrade to Windows 10, and you will be able to use Windows 10 on these devices even if you don't have a Volume License contract.
  • Please therefore bear in mind that as of January 2022, you can only order HP devices with Windows 11. For those who would prefer to postpone the migration to Windows 11 and still need Windows 10 devices, we recommend ordering them now in 2021.
