Dramatic changes and unfamiliar innovations require an implementation period to get used to them. The integration of artificial intelligence and robots into our daily routine is one such innovation. Many of us are wary of this sort of integration, especially if they have decision-making powers that can affect us personally.

Recruitment 2.0

A smart computer that decides whether you're the right candidate for a job that seems perfect for you. Being rejected is never fun, and when it's by something or someone incapable of empathy, that can make it even less pleasant, maybe even unacceptable. Still, the recruitment process plans to increase its use of artificial intelligence, automation and digital solutions. Recruiters see this as part of the future, especially if they can save time and increase efficiency.

The initial rough screening, communication maintenance among all parties and administrative tasks are typical, time-consuming jobs that can be addressed in this manner. However, it's crucial to know your own company's target group well, such as whether a typical candidate will be satisfied by an automatically generated email. These preferences often vary depending on the sector and on how old the candidate is. If you feel your company's candidates are ready, don't hesitate to step it up a notch.

Human Touch

The testing of factual knowledge can be done by a robot. Volvo already does this: they put candidates behind a touchscreen that is in a car. They must then answer various questions. A technical specialist, for example, should be able to distinguish among various components of an automobile engine on the screen. Determining whether a candidate has the potential to fit company values is more of a task for human recruiters though, as only they are capable of sifting through the hidden layers and emotions during an interview. As you can see, the new recruitment method not a case of either/or, but combines both new technology and a person's good old commonsense.
