We as a company want to help develop people's potential, and it is never too early to start. We like to set a good example, and that is why, for some years now, we have organized a series of SimplICiTy4Kids sessions during the school holidays for the children or grandchildren of our employees. Inspired by CoderDojo and under the expert guidance of our own coaches, the children spend an entire day finding out about many different aspects of the IT sector.
Virtual Reality was part of the recent summer session in July. VR is a technology which is being used in specific situations more and more in society. Hospitals, for example, use virtual reality to prepare children for an operation. Meanwhile, virtual reality in the classroom is able to bring geography lessons about geological strata to life. The health care and education sectors in particular seem to be at the forefront when it comes to harnessing the benefits of virtual reality. Research now shows that pupils with poor reading and language skills can make remarkable progress using 360-degree gadgets.
Our SimplICiTy-kids had the chance to take a ride on our Röllercøster, a VR device constructed in its entirety by a few of our employees which is intended to replicate the ups and downs of a rollercoaster. Did they enjoy it? The photos say it all!
